The Ultimate Cheeseburger

The Ultimate Cheeseburger with Green Mayonnaise

This is no ordinary burger. Juicy, tender beef, melty cheese, and all the right toppings come together to create the ultimate cheeseburger experience. A true classic, elevated to perfection.

Ingredients

For the Burger (1 Serving):

• 2 burger patties (5-6 oz each)
• 4 slices cheddar cheese
• 1 burger bun (top and bottom)
• 1 additional bottom bun for the middle layer
• 2 tomato slices
• 2 thin slices of red onion
• 2 leaves of crisp lettuce (such as romaine or iceberg)
• 4 pickle slices
• 1 teaspoon ketchup

For the Green Herb Mayo:

Green Herb Oil:

• ¼ cup fresh spinach
• 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
• 1 tablespoon fresh basil
• 2 tablespoons olive oil

Mayonnaise Base:

• 1 egg yolk
• ¼ teaspoon Dijon mustard
• ¼ teaspoon lemon juice
• ¼ cup green herb oil
• Salt and pepper to taste

For the Special Sauce (Alternative):

• 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
• ¼ teaspoon horseradish
• ½ teaspoon finely chopped pickles (or relish)
• Pinch of garlic powder
• Pinch of smoked paprika
• ¼ teaspoon ketchup
• ¼ teaspoon mustard
• Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Make the Green Herb Oil. Blend spinach, parsley, basil,and olive oil in a small blender until smooth.
  2. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids if needed.

Prepare the Green Herb Mayo.

  1. Whisk the egg yolk, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice in a small bowl until well combined.
  2. Gradually pour in the green herb oil while whisking continuously to form an emulsion—season with salt and pepper to taste.

Make the Special Sauce (Optional):

  1. Mix mayonnaise, horseradish, pickles, garlic powder, smoked paprika, ketchup, and mustard until smooth.
  2. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Cook the Burger Patties:

  1. Heat a skillet or grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Cook the burger patties for 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
  3. Place two cheese slices on each patty to melt during the last minute of cooking.

Assemble the Burger:

  1. Toast the buns lightly if desired.
  2. Spread a generous green herb mayo or special sauce on the bottom bun.
  3. Add the first patty with two slices of cheese.
  4. Place the middle bun (the bottom bun of the second bun) on top of the first patty.
  5. Spread another layer of green herb mayo or special sauce on the middle bun.
  6. Add lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, and pickles.
  7. Top with the second patty and two slices of cheese.
  8. Finish with the top bun, spreading a little ketchup inside if desired.
